Signup and Tryout Information

SIGNUP INFORMATION

  • Our 2008 Season registration is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 9th at the Glens Falls YMCA.
  • Our 2008 Season Tryouts by age groups are on Saturday, March 15th and Sunday, March 16th at the Hudson Falls High School.
  • Bring sneakers, shorts, t-shirt w/player’s last name on the back. If necessary, we will make nametags using tape.


    PLEASE NOTE: Proof of birthdate is REQUIRED at time of registration.

    Players must pay a $20 registration fee at time of sign-up.  If selected at tryouts, players must pay a $300 tuition fee, plus a refundable $75 deposit fee to Northern Lites.  This fee covers lodging expenses and tournament entry fees for the season.  The deposit is refunded at the end of the AAU season, if the parents of the player volunteer to work our home tournament, the GREAT ADIRONDACK SHOOTOUT.

    TEAM SELECTION PROCESS

    Players in all age groups MUST be present both days of tryouts.  Exceptions to this requirement, due to extenuating circumstances, must be approved by the Director of Northern Lites.

    A panel of local varsity coaches, along with the head AAU coach at that level, will evaluate all players trying out.

    Each coach will cast a vote for the players that have exhibited the skills required to play at the National and State level.

    Some of the highly skilled players may be accelerated to a higher age bracket if it is deemed that their skill is at a higher level than their current age bracket.

    DIRECTIONS TO TRYOUT SITE

    Directions to the Hudson Falls Central High School on East Labarge Street are as Follows:

    Proceed North on U.S. Route 4 through Hudson Falls and turn right on East Labarge Street. Parking is at the school. Use the main entrance doors.

    Proceed South on U.S. Route 4 past the intersection of route 254 and turn left on to East Labarge Street. Parking is at the school. Use the main entrance doors.
