BIO:
Northen
Lites Board of Directors member since 2005. As a player,
Rebecca scored over 1000 points and had over 1000 rebounds at a
Class A high school in Massachusetts and continued her success as a
standout player at Plymouth State College in Plymouth, NH. There,
she also hit the 1000 point mark. Rebecca was named the Little East
Rookie of the Year as a Freshman, received numerous player of the
week honors, and was selected to the All Little East Conference Team
as a Junior. Rebecca ended her college career as the third all time
leading scorer in PSC women's basketball history. Rebecca also
played AAU Basketball for the Central Mass Cougars for five years,
where she competed in the Division I 14U National Tournament in
Cincinnati, Ohio. Rebecca works for Cornell Cooperative
Extension in Saratoga County..

Elizabeth Smith - Co-President

BIO: First season on the Northern
Lites Board of Directors and Co-President. As a player Elizabeth
scored over 1000pts at Hartford Central in Hartford NY. Elizabeth
played for Oneonta, and was a member of the 2001 SUNY AC
Championship team. Elizabeth is also a former member of the Northern
Lites, playing three seasons for the club. She is very exited to
help ensure girls have the same wonderful experience with the
Northern Lites as she did. Elizabeth is currently the Human
Resources Manager for Bonacio Construction in Saratoga Springs.

BIO:
Northen Lites
Board of Directors since 1997, serving as President 2001-2007. A
member of the Capital District Board of Women's Basketball
Officials, he recently completed his 39th season of officiating
local high school girl's basketball games. Harold was a career
employee of the New York State Department of Correctional
Services, retiring as Superintendent of Mount McGregor
Correctional Facility. He currently serves on the Board of
Directors of the Great Meadow Federal Credit Union and Glens Falls
Youth Center. During his retirement, Harold is a registered
volunteer with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of
Warren and Washington counties in Glens Falls, NY. He has five
children, nine grandchildren, and lives in Argyle, NY, with his
wife Beth.

Peter Blaauboer
BIO:
Northen
Lites Board of Directors member since 2007. Peter taught in public high
school systems from 1958-1996. He retired from Saratoga
Springs Jr. H.S. as Dept. Chair in Science. Peter coached
boy’s basketball at various levels from 1958-1969. His
daughter, Laura, played in the Northern Lites basketball program
before going on to play at Clarkson Univ. He resides on the
Great Sacandaga Lake in Broadalbin, NY with his wife Joanne, who
also joined our Board of Directors this year.

Joanne Blaauboer
BIO: Northen
Lites Board of Directors member since 2007. Joanne taught in the
Saratoga Springs school system from 1972-2006. She retired as
Dept. Chair in Science. Joanne is the “J” portion of our
B.O.D. along with her husband Peter (PB & J). She brings many
years of experience to Northern Lites as a
result of her daughter Laura’s participation in our program.

Pete Rabida
BIO: Northern
Lites Board of Directors since 1996 and coach for several seasons at
various age levels. Previously a high school girl's basketball
and softball coach at several local high schools, Pete has served on
the Queensbury Little League Board of Directors and coached in the
Queensbury Youth Basketball Program since 1989. He is also a
volunteer Director of the Glens Falls YMCA and Spring Girl's basketball
program. Pete has officiated girls and boys high school
basketball and football for several seasons. He is a career New
York State Department of Correctional Services employee, has two
children, and lives in Queensbury with his wife, Betsy.
